I had an odd experience this summer when I was visiting my sisters and Mom in North Carolina. My sister has five dogs! I was walking through the yard introducing myself to them and my sister was telling me their names. We got to "Benji", who I immediately called "Jack". He has to be tied up when my sister's not home because he beats up her cats and the other dogs don't like him. I truly felt that I'd known this dog before and he was showing me where they put his food dish when he's tied out and where he'd rather they put it. My mother thought I'd really lost it and, not having ever had this kind of experience before, I was pretty sure she was right!

I do seem to know intuitively how to calm an animal and the neighborhood strays do seem to know where to find me when they're injured or ill. But I had never experienced anything like my communication with "Jack". I'd have brought him home with me if I could, just to learn more!

I certainly have. I find my self verbalizing the animal's thoughts. I used to think that I was just guessing or it was silly talk. Now I think that it was them. When it happens, it is fast and spontaneous. The ones that I am open to are usually the happy dogs, purring cats and inquisitive horses. It's a little harder (and I think I close myself to it) when it's not as pleasant. Like walking down a dark barn aisle and feeling the horses lonliness and frustration at being cooped up in a dark stall alone.

Reiki should help your intuitive side, from what I know about it. Sat Nam Rasayan courses gave me some tools that help with this.
